Day 1. Monday, June 3: Transatlantic flight to Barcelona


Day 2. Tuesday, June 4: Barcelona – Monserrat

Welcome to Spain! Upon arrival into Barcelona, enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Visit Barcelona Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter. Stop for a visit to Gaudi’s Holy Family Basilica. Transfer to Montserrat for a welcome dinner and overnight. (WD)


Day 3. Wednesday, June 5: Montserrat: Excursion to Manresa

This morning, journey to Manresa to visit the cave where St. Ignatius wrote his Spiritual Exercises. Afterwards, return to Montserrat for a sightseeing of the Shrine of Our Lady of Montserrat. It was here that St. Ignatius left his sword to commit himself exclusively to the service of God. Dinner and overnight in Manresa. (BB, D)


Day 4. Thursday, June 6: Montserrat – Zaragoza

This morning, travel to Zaragoza to visit the Basilica of the Pillar, the first shrine established to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary. Also visit Zaragoza Cathedral or Seo with its magnificent side chapels, one of them commemorating St. Dominguito de Val and another to St. Pedro de Arbues, martyr of the Inquisition. Dinner and overnight in Zaragoza. (BB, D)


Day 5. Friday, June 7: Zaragoza – Segovia – Ávila

Morning transfer to the historic city of Segovia. Admire its impressive Roman aqueduct boasting more than 160 arches, and then spend some time on your own. Afterwards, visit the Carmelite Church to give homage to St. John of the Cross whose relics are located in a glorious chapel. After a short drive, arrive into the magnificent walled city of Ávila for dinner and overnight. (BB, D)


Day 6. Saturday, June 8: Ávila

This morning enjoy a sightseeing of the medieval walled city of Ávila. Visit the Convent of St. Teresa of Avila, built over the house where she was born, and the Monastery of the Incarnation, where the saint lived for more than 20 years. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to explore this beautiful town. Tonight, dinner is on your own. (BB)


Day 7. Sunday, June 9: Ávila – Alba de Tormes – Salamanca

This morning, transfer to Alba de Tormes, to pray before the relics of St. Teresa of Avila, housed in the Carmelite Church. After a short drive, arrive into Salamanca for a sightseeing of this university city. Visit its Cathedrals and its main Plaza. Dinner and overnight in Salamanca. (BB, D)


Day 8. Monday, June 10: Salamanca – Santiago de Compostela

Morning at leisure to explore on your own Salamanca’s city center. Early in the afternoon, travel to Santiago de Compostela for dinner and overnight. (BB, D)


Day 9. Tuesday June 11: Santiago de Compostela

Today enjoy a visit to the third most important Catholic pilgrimage site of the middle ages: the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, where the relics of St. James the Apostle are venerated. Also visit the magnificent Convent of San Martino Pinario and its Museum of Religious Art. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Tonight, dinner is on your own. (BB)


Day 10. Wednesday, June 12: Santiago de Compostela – Pontevedra – Coimbra – Fatima

Today, travel to Pontevedra to visit the Dorothean Sisters Convent, where Our Lady appeared to Sr. Lucy requesting the devotion of the Five First Saturdays. Afterwards, stop in Coimbra to visit the Carmelite Convent where Sr. Lucy died. Continue to Fatima for dinner and overnight. (BB, D)


Day 11. Thursday, June 13: Fatima

This morning follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Sacra, culminating in the Chapel of Calvary which overlooks all of Fatima. Visit the hamlet of Aljustrel where the shepherd children lived. Return to Fatima to visit the Little Chapel of the Apparitions, and the Basilica, the site of Francisco, Jacinta, and Sister Lucy’s graves. The rest of the day is at leisure. Enjoy a farewell dinner tonight to celebrate the end of the pilgrimage. (BB, D)


Day 12. Friday, June 14: Return to USA

Transfer to Lisbon’s airport to take your homebound flight. (BB)
