Day 1:
Transatlantic flight to
Rome, Italy
Depart today from the U.S. on a transatlantic flight to Rome.

|
Day 2:
Rome – Assisi
Upon arrival in Rome, your Tour Director will accompany the
group to the motor-coach to take you to the beautiful medieval
town of Assisi. Here your sightseeing tour includes visits to
the Church of St. Clare, which houses her
incorrupt body. One of its chapels contains the crucifix that
bowed its head and ordered St. Francis to “Repair God’s
Church”. Afterwards, you will tour the Basilica of St. Francis
built in 1228 to house the relics of the saint. Then, visit
the church of Santa Maria Degli Angeli,
containing the famous Porziuncola, and the Convent of San
Damiano, where the Eucharistic Miracle of Assisi took place in

Day 3:
Assisi – Cascia – Assisi
This morning, journey southeast to the city of
Cascia to render homage to the
incorrupt body of St. Rita, “the saint of the impossible
cases”. Another precious relic in the Basilica of St. Rita is
the Eucharistic Miracle of Cascia that took place in 1330.
Visit also the Monastery of St. Rita to venerate the Crucifix
from which the saint received the stigmata. Here you can see
also her wedding ring and her habit. Return to Assisi for free

Day 4:
Assisi – Osimo
– Loreto – San Giovanni Rotondo
Today you leave Assisi. En route to San Giovanni Rotondo, your
first stop will be at Osimo to render homage to St. Joseph
Cupertino, the “flying priest”. After Mass, drive to Loreto to
visit the house of the Virgin Mary, which miraculously
uprooted itself from the Holy Land and was carried by angels
to this place. This evening, after your arrival to San
Giovanni Rotondo enjoy dinner. (BB, D) |

Day 5:
San Giovanni Rotondo
– Excursion to Gargano Peninsula
After breakfast, visit the sites where the miracle-worker St.
Padre Pio spent his last years of his life and have Mass at
the Shrine that houses his tomb, Our Lady of Grace.
Afterwards, tour the
Gargano Peninsula, with visits
to a 16th century convent in St. Marco de Lamis,
and to the grotto where St. Michael the Archangel appeared to the Bishop of Sipontum in Monte San Angelo in 493. Dinner
and overnight in San Giovanni Rotondo. (BB, D) |

Day 6:
San Giovanni Rotondo –
Lanciano – Mannopello – Genazzano – Rome
A day of many graces! In Lanciano, pray before the Eucharistic
Miracle, the Host that turned to flesh and the wine that
turned to visible blood in the 8th century. Next
stop will be Mannopello, where you will admire the Veil of
Veronica with the image of the Face of Our Lord. Pope Benedict
XVI recently prayed before this important relic. Your last
visit of the day will be Genazzano, to venerate the miraculous
image of Our Lady of Good Counsel. This miraculous image
traveled from Albania, crossed the Adriatic Sea, and descended
onto one of the church’s unfinished walls. The portrait is
suspended in the air and has been so for over 500 years. It is
one of the most miraculous and venerated images of Our Lady in
Italy. A short drive will take you to Rome, where you will
have dinner and overnight. (BB, D) |

Day 7:
Rome
This morning visit the Vatican to be present at the Papal
Audience. Afterwards, your Rome’s sightseeing tour starts with
a visit to the Church of St. Maria in Aracoeli, which houses a
miraculous image of Our Lady and the miraculous statue of the
Child Jesus of Aracoeli; the Roman Forum, which was the
ceremonial center of the city under the Empire; St. Lawrence
in Miranda to see the site where the trial of the saint took
place and St. Lawrence was condemned to martyrdom; see the
Coliseum, Rome’s greatest amphitheater; have Mass at the
Catacombs, and visit St. Paul Outside the Walls, with its
outstanding marble canopy over the high altar. Dinner and

Day 8:
Rome
You will start the day with a guided tour of the Vatican City,
the world capital of Catholicism. Visits include St. Peter’s
Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums. The rest
of the afternoon is free to enjoy the Eternal City. Overnight

Day 9:
Rome
Today, have a guided tour of the basilicas and nearby
churches: Start with Mass at St. Lawrence Outside the Walls,
built directly over the martyr’s tomb; St. Lawrence in
Panisperna to see the site of the saint’s martyrdom; St. Peter
in Vincola, to venerate the chains that bound St. Peter in the
prisons of Jerusalem; St. Prassede, which houses the Column of
the Flagellation and a reliquary containing three thorns from
Christ’s crown; St. Maria Maggiore, built on the site where
the Virgin Mary indicated to Pope Liberius by a miraculous
snowfall in August 356; St. Croce de Jerusalem, to venerate
important relics of the Passion of Our Lord; St. John Lateran,
called the mother of all churches, it is the cathedral of the
bishop of Rome and contains exceptional relics; the Scala
Santa, which contains the Holy Stairs that Jesus Christ
ascended during His Passion in Pontius Pilate’s palace. This
evening enjoy a farewell dinner. Overnight in Rome. (BB, D) |
