Sample Itinerary:

Three days in Lourdes, then Carcassonne, and optional Pibrac and Toulouse.

 

Day 1: Transatlantic flight from the U. S. To Lourdes, France

Depart today towardsLourdes. During the international flight, meals will be provided by the airline.

 

Day 2: Lourdes

Upon arrival in Lourdes, you will be welcomed by your Tour Escort. In the evening, participate in the procession and Rosary at the shrine. (D)

 

Day 3: Lourdes

In the morning, visit the sites related to the apparitions: The Miraculous spring, the Grotto of the Apparitions, the Basilica and the Stations of the Cross. The afternoon is free for you to visit other sites, or to go to the baths. Dinner is on your own. In the evening, you may want again to participate in the candlelight procession and Rosary. Overnight in Lourdes. (BB)

 

Day 4: Lourdes

Today, visit the sites related to Saint Bernadette: Boly Mill, where she was born, the “Cachot”, or prison cell where her family, stricken by poverty, lived, the church and font where she was baptized. Afternoon is left at your leisure, with overnight in Lourdes. (BB)

 

Day 5: Optional Excursion to Pibrac and Toulouse

An optional excursion to Pibrac and Toulouse is offered for today.

Pibrac is the home of a humble saint, Germaine Cousin, who, although an outcast in the eyes of the world, was full of charity, piety and forgiveness. Many miracles have been attributed to her, including the deliverance of two Popes from their captivity. Her incorrupt body is at the basilica of Pibrac.

In Toulouse, the largest Romanesque church in Europe, the stunning Eglise St. Sernin, houses the relics of St. Saturnin, first bishop of Toulouse and a martyr. Then, the Church of the Jacobins, where the great Saint Thomas Aquinas is buried. Student of St. Albert the Great and doctor of the Church,Saint Thomas is the author of the Summa Theologica, a compendium of theological teaching. (BB)

 

Day 6: Lourdes – Carcassonne – Toulouse

Today’s excursion takes you to the Citadel of Carcassonne, a magnificently preserved fortified town which proudly sits on a hill. Walk the cobbled, narrow medieval streets to visit the many sites this city has to offer. In the afternoon, head toToulouse for some free time, independent dinner, and overnight. (BB)

 

Day 7: Return to the U.S.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport in Toulouse for your flight home to the U.S.
